Cherokee Work Services is excited to announce the merger with Crossroads of Western Iowa! This is an exciting event that will positively affect us all in our efforts to empower more people in our community.
Crossroads of Western Iowa has been in existence since 1975 with a service area extending from Council Bluffs to Sioux City, Iowa. Sharing similar missions, both organizations are devoted to empowering individuals with disabilities, primarily intellectual and physical disabilities, serious mental illness and traumatic brain injuries.
As Cherokee Work Services and Crossroads of Western Iowa unite, our goal will continue to be teaching life skills and independence, while helping individuals reach their full potential. With similar programming and employment opportunities, the merger will allow us to provide more opportunities and increase the number of clients served in the Cherokee area.
As of July 1, 2017, Cherokee Work Services will inherit the “Crossroads of Western Iowa” name to encompass the merging organizations. The combined organization will provide a variety of core services including, Residential Living, Supported & Organizational Employment, and Adult Day Services.
